Framing
There are many technically good framers around, but few who either take the trouble or have the eye to make the most of your artwork.
We pride ourselves in doing both successfully. When someone brings in a piece of artwork to be framed, we try to establish first of all how they had envisioned it. If we think that their ideas can work, we come up with several variations on their theme until we find the one with which they feel most happy - trying all the time to stay within their budget. If we think their ideas wouldn't really work, we attempt to steer the client in another direction.
If they have no preconceived ideas at all, we first of all establish the colour scheme of the room in which it will hang. and from which direction the light will fall. Having ascertained this, we put together mounts, frames and colours which we think will enhance the picture in its new surroundings. Often, the customer wants something completely different from the frame samples we stock, in which case we let them choose the profile of the moulding and hand-stain or paint it to suit.
Many people move house or redecorate only to find that their pictures now look completely out of place. You don't have to go out and buy all new artwork: most can be updated and totally refreshed by clever reframing. You can save a fortune with absolutely brilliant results.
We offer trade discounts to professional photographers and interior designers, the percentage depending upon the size of the job.
